March, 2008

ATTENDEES: Matt Haubert/President, Charley Galassini/Secretary,
Jason Marker/Director, Joseph Oliver/Director.

ABSENT: None

OLD BUSINESS
The minutes from the last meeting were accepted without amendments.

We discussed the individual who still have not paid their annual assessments. We discussed we will be firm with the people who have not paid. Joe has been working very hard with the contractors to get the front monument repaired. As we all know the winter weather has been the major reason for the delay. We discussed the need to get the landscaping, irrigation and pond maintenance contracts in place.

Treasurer’s Report

Bills were paid for postage and supplies. Commonwealth Edison was paid. We are still getting payments for the annual assessments. We have sent out notices informing residents that a one dollar a day penalty is now being imposed on all outstanding balances. Charley put together a summary of deposits and discussed the monies available for contracts due for landscaping, irrigation, and pond maintenance.

The Board discussed the monies are tight, but we will work to keep the community looking nice in response to our questionnaire’s returned last fall.

NEW BUSINESS
We discussed several possibilities for the landscaping contract. We have a proposal that Jason brought and he will follow up with the owner to finalize the contract. We are seeking a 2 year deal to help save money.

Charley has been in contact with Green Up and they appear willing to work out a discount as well. We have an initial proposal for irrigation and pond maintenance and Charley is going to see if he can negotiate a price reduction if we agree to a two year contract. His initial impression is he can get this done. He will report at the next meeting the result. We would like to sign contracts at the next meeting.

We discussed some parameters for a spring newsletter. A draft will be sent among the Board members and the goal is to have it out in April.

Matt is going to talk to an individual he knows that does driveway seal coating. We are looking to get a bulk deal and this will be put in the newsletter for signing up. We probably will use our email address for residents to contact us so we can set up a schedule.

There were a couple of residents, at the annual meeting, who expressed wanting to be part of a beautification committee and we are going to pursue such a committee. We have some money in the budget to buy some plants or flowers.

NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be held Tuesday April 1, 2008.

Respectfully submitted,
Charley Galassini, Secretary
